CNC Milling and Turning
Parts can be made by either milling or turning. This is determined by the design of your part.
We can mill or turn in both metals and plastics.
Please note: one of our service levels is Express dispatch. Please ensure you read the criteria on this page for our Express service before you request a quote for that service level.

Your parts. Your process.
Once you have sent us your part files our team will review the files for machining suitability. If there are any machining issues or if we need to discuss any concessions that will speed up production or reduce costs we will get in touch. If there are no issues our office team will send our costs to you via email.
Every part file is reviewed by our CNC team, not an algorithm, and this takes time. However, we do aim to get our costs back to you within 24 hours.
CNC Machining Materials
Numerous types of metal and plastic material can be machined using CNC machining. We keep a stock of commonly used materials in-house including:
- Aluminium
- Acetal
- Clear Acrylic
- Stainless Steel
Other materials are available (subject to supplier lead times).
We offer 3 service levels. These are designed to help you meet tight timescales or economy budgets.

- How many parts you require
- Which service level (Express, Standard, and Economy)
We know time is precious so don’t waste yours by creating a fully detailed 2D drawing; we work from the 3D design model. If you have specific features or tolerances, then create a basic drawing, a quick presentation or just put the information in the email.
Express service level
If you want your CNC machined part dispatched in 5 working days, your part must meet all of the CNC Express criteria detailed below. If you part does not meet the criteria, you will need to choose one of our other service levels (see above).

Numerous types of metal and plastic material can be machined using CNC machining. We keep a stock of commonly used materials in-house. Only the materials listed below, are available on our CNC Express service. If you require different materials, you will need to choose one of our other CNC service levels.
- Acetal – black and natural
- Acrylic – clear
- Aluminium – 6082
- Stainless Steel – 316 & 304
All machined parts are left as-milled. Other finishes are available on request, but will need to be ordered using one of our other CNC service levels.
Threaded holes of M2 – M12 (model drill hole size) are supported on our CNC Express service. Standard threads only. For through tapped holes make hole size suit drill ØM1-M12. See the diagram below for details.

As a natural result of the CNC machining process, the sharp inside corners of a part will be rounded (radiused). The resulting radii will be identified before the part is milled as this will depend on the depth of the feature.

Here are some considerations, should your part incorporate text:
- 0.5mm is the minimum stroke width for recessed text
- 0.5mm, or greater, spacing should be used between characters on raised text
- Recessed text is better than raised text
- General machining tolerance: +-0.1
- Hole tolerance: H7
- Number of items and quantity of limited (geometry specific)
- Maximum of five separate parts may be included in one quote request
- Inspection: basic visual to CAD
Express service level: for CNC Machined parts for dispatch in 5working days, subject to criteria. All final data for our Express Service Level is required by 4.30pm to guarantee dispatch in 5 working days.
Quote requests: we process all quote requests and orders between 8.00am and 5.00pm on business days. Quote requests received between 8.00am and 4.00pm are usually responded to on the same day. This does, however, depend on the complexity of the requirement. Quote requests received after 4.00pm will be responded to on the following business day.
